  3. OMG! I was sitting at the edge of my mountain(couch) while reading this post! What great detail of the day, adventure and risk. I was also using some “special words” regarding….. leaving gear, note, evidence…….. W H A T !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh and by the way, when you get back, I will be on vacation at….. hmmm, ummm yes “Glacier National Park”

    Can’t wait for the pics!!!!

  4. I got part earth through reading and had to stop and email my sister Fay. Told her she had to read your blog and especially today’s. She lived in White fish for a while and one of her daughters was born there. Then as I was reading I had to keep myself from sneaking a peek at the “pictures”…..Ahhhh THE PICTURES! Well at least your post came through. BTW have you figured out yet that this trip will cost you a fortune since You’ll have to do this all over again w/o your bike but with your family……I can hear them now…Daddy you have to take its take us to all those great spots.

  5. Ok Ken, you’ve seen some nice mountains, met some cool people, eaten some great food, fixed a bunch of tires…now it’s time to get moving on that bike! Samantha is expecting you back in NY this weekend to celebrate her graduation!!

  6. Can’t wait to see those pictures …. And wow – last major climbs until PA?! What a milestone – hoist the sails!

  7. Ken- there’s a word for yesterday’s experience and you know what it is. You’ll remember the day for the rest of time, like seeing a child born, or saying your marriage vows or watching a first step. Looking at your map it’s clear that there’s much of the road that was not passable, at least not yesterday. So you’ll need to go back and finish it at a later date. How amazing is that? I can’t wait to see the photos. And yes your sense of danger on the road was accurate. It shows your experience and preparation area paying off. Glad you got back down, with your bags intact. Remember, don’t hurry. This is simply to good to miss a thing. Thanks for the posts….

  8. So, so happy that you did it! Now you know why we keep going back to Glacier. You are one determined dude, and I am duly impressed. Can’t wait for the pics!

  9. Hi Ken,

Sounds like a magnificently beautiful albeit a long, tiring and harrowing day at Glacier National Park. Looking forward to seeing what must be simply amazing pictures. Interesting with the Park Ranger bringing you your ‘hidden’ gear. Was getting concerned when it seemed like awhile between receiving your blog posts. Get some rest following this physically and emotionally draining day. Hoping for flatter, easier roads ahead. Stay safe –

    Best regards,
    Jerry

  10. We’ve been to Glacier many years ago… a totally beautiful place. A shame you couldn’t have stayed longer, but it sounds like you got some views/experiences that most don’t.

Keep the updates coming…. looking forward to seeing you in a few weeks….

  11. Biking up that road was one of the most sublime experiences of my life… I did it in late August, so there was no snow, but the road construction was going at fulltilt. Had to climb up very very gravelly road! Thanks for the memories. Now go enjoy those flats!

  12. Hi Ken, I know insurance is in your blood but I think you missed your calling as a tour guide / writer. The descriptions of what you see makes me feel like I’m seeing them with you and the writing has me on the edge of my seat. Can not wait to see the pictures! Travel safe & keep up the amazing job!
